Some good news from last week as 2s registered first win of the season on Saturday! And the Evening League win over Canewdon with a special mention to the performance of Alfie Jeeves with his first ever fifty (53*) and 6 for 21...
Availability
We had a committee meeting last week and it appears that not enough people are filling in their availability or otherwise on the site. This means that Kev has to do a lot of chasing each week and teams are inevitably announced late in the week.
Even a Luddite like me can fill it in with only 3 choices- available, unavailable or unsure. Some members are moaning that they don’t know if they are playing until very late in the week. Some of these may not have filled in their availability!!!
PLEASE GO ON THE SITE AND DO THE NECESSARY.

Cricket week
Following up please can members start to thinking about making themselves available for cricket week (starting 31st July)
31st July South Walsham (touring side/40 over match)
1st August Maylands Green (evening T20)
2nd Laconics (25th year anniversary match / 40 over match)
3rd - *tbc* - Leigh Ramblers & Southend hockey (round robin T10 starting at 3 or if only one opposition a T20)
4th Annual Chairman XI v Presidents XI (3pm start T20)
New Large Brim Hats
For the hotter days throughout the season players may like to wear a wide brimmed sun hat. These are available from Warsops and can be embroidered with the club badge. As a one off order Rob Palmer will place a bulk order for those who would;d like to have one. Should you miss the order then the hats can be purchased direct from Warsop but you will have to pay the postage or arrange to collect from their shop in East Hanningfield.
The hats with an Eastwood badge come in the following head sizes and will cost £19;
Small - 52cm
Medium - 54cm
Large - 56cm
Extra large - 58cm
Extra Extra Large - 60cm
