Eastwood Cricket Club News story

March 2024 Club Newsletter

31 Mar 2024

Dear member,

I trust this email finds you well and latest Club News can be found below. Please take time to read.

1. Fixtures and Get Set Day

All fixtures are now out. Friendlies, T Rippon Saturday League, Southend Evening League, Veterans, and the dates for the Eastwood cricket week.
Please get planning and making your availabilities known. First friendly is 20th April.
14th April is the Club Day or as now know by the ECB – Get Set Day.
If volunteers could make themselves known to the Committee. The day normally involved getting all the equipment out, general tidy up of the changing rooms and freeing the outdoor nets, sight screens and roller from the winter weeds.
More hands make light work!!

2. Registration and Subscriptions for 2024

Thank you to all those who have completed their Play Cricket Registrations. We have over 50 members now ready on Play Cricket, but we are still missing around 12 playing members from 2023.
Remember NO Registration, NO Play on Saturdays. We can not make this clearer.
It literally takes 5 minutes – https://eastwood.play-cricket.com/home
Top right corner under Sign In. If you are having any issues, please reach out to Nirmal Patel or Tim Ward.

In addition to all members – we are requiring your Subscriptions for 2024.
Thank you to the 10 or so members who have already paid. Please if everyone else can pay asap - this saves a lot of time chasing.
Remember all the Committee are unpaid volunteers so doing your part make everyone’s lives easier.

3. Quiz night.
Reminder we are holding a fund raising and social quiz evening on the 12th April at Belfairs Sports and Social. £5 per person. All profits raised from entry will go towards funding the winter nets and a lot of time goes into organising these events so a strong turn out would be greatly appreciated by the organisers and the Committee. Everyone welcome – friends, families etc.
Please make your interest known to Cameron Hill - cam3791@hotmail.co.uk

4. Extra Winter Nets
To back up the point from the Quiz Night and fund raising – Kevin has organised two additional indoor winter net sessions at Southend High School for Boys. 15th and 22nd April at extra cost to the club. Please make effort to attend.
We will also try to support player registrations and Subscription payments at these two nights by having a laptop and the card reader on hand respectively.
