Eastwood CC are sad to announce the passing of one of their founder members Brian Burns.
Brian was a medium pace deadly accurate bowler whose best figures were 8-2 . As for his batting he was run out by a young Sean Worrall in a 10th wicket stand of not many.
Brian was team secretary for many years and in those days when the phone rang after 11pm at night it was only ever BB moving you to another team.
Brian was hugely instrumental in the building of the clubhouse and taking on many roles, treasurer, secretary, bar manager mostly at once. Though he came from the cricket side he was hugely supportive of all the clubs and as for himself if the club was open he was there!
Brian requested no fuss but there will be a wake on Tuesday 24th at his former local the Cock Inn from 3-6pm to raise a glass in his memory!
