Outstanding debts

18 Feb 2014

At times after a game we rush off to the bar or out for the evening, as we are leaving the changing room a cry of “can I pay that next week Skip?” or “Sorry my money is in the car/with the wife” is heard, and can be forgotten by the following week. In our (as a club) it is something that perhaps was heard all too much during 2013 as the latest accounts show. We have all done it at some point. As a club we can not operate without cash. The council will not allow us to “pay next week” for pitches nor will the insurance company, cricket boards, leagues, Schools we use for hall hire, or any of the other many items we need during the season.

Our outstanding debts from members are now reaching a quite high figure and is becoming a concern. As a club we try to provide cricket at the cheapest prices we can. I still believe we are one if not the cheapest in the area and this has seen our membership grow quite a lot over the last 5 years.

Membership Secretary, Neil Mason will be contacting you in the coming days if you owe money, you can also view from your sign on for the club’s website. Please help the club continue to grow, by settling all outstanding debts promptly. The committee has reviewed all these debts and believes they are accurate. If you have any issues, please contact Neil or myself and we will investigate with you. We will also consider payment plans to ensure your debts are cleared for the 2014 season.

Many thanks
